BEHOLD:

THE CARLTON (Hawai’i) PRESS!

This Magnificent Printing Press is based upon Dr. Benjamin Franklin’s Press which dwells in The Smithsonian. The Press was lovingly crafted by Patrick Vala-Haynes (of Carlton, Oregon) to commemorate The Bicentennial of the First Printing in Hawai’i.

Patrick in his workshop about a year into The Project. Native Oregon White Oak makes up about 95% of The Press. A “Plank” of Spruce, smatterings of Purple Heart, a Black Walnut “Cap”, a “Platen” of Honduran Mahogany, and a Marble “Stone” Bed round things out nicely at about 1000 lbs.

COMING SOON . . .
